Changes to the required backflow prevention for irrigation systems
As of January 1, 2013 all irrigation systems (including residential systems) installed within the city of Calgary will be subject to the CSA B64.10-07/B64.10.1-07 section and installation of backflow preventers code and Clause 2,6,2,1,(3) in The National Plumbing Code of Canada 2010. CE Update
We would like to firstly thank everyone who donated their time for the certification course this April hosted at Stantec in Calgary. Your results from the test will be mailed out to you once the marking is complete.
For information about your CEU cycle, contact the IA office at Certification@irrigation.org or call 703.536.7080.
Stay tuned to for updates for the next round of classes at a location near you. Future Exam dates are tentatively scheduled to be held in both Edmonton and Calgary.

Remember CEU's can be submitted online at no charge, or be mailed or faxed to the IA for a US$25 processing fee.
Sun & Salsa and the ACIA July 22nd
Everyone was getting in on the action for Smart Irrigation month as we spread the message of hiring certified contractors at the Sun and Salsa festival in Kensington this July.

The streets were packed and the sun was definitely shining as we gave away 900 of the ACIA "Hire a Certified Contractor " Fun Flyers along with Brochures with the names of local certified contractors. |

2013 IA Exam Opportunity
Take advantage of this chance to join the ranks of IA-certified professionals who use their Irrigation Association credentials to differentiate themselves and their business. The ACIA is hosting the Exam at the City of Calgary Water Center in the Bow Room on Friday May 31.at 8:30 am. Here you'll have the opportunity to write any of the available exams in a classroom setting.

2013 ACIA Education Week & General Meeting
We've set the dates for this years education week and general meeting. This March from the 11th to the 15th the city of Calgary Water Center will be host to the majority of the classes and meetings. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the water center there's some great information here.
